EXPENSIVE RIP OFF Richland Hills

Six years ago when we started our own business, I looked into a private health insurance policy. A salesman came over, and I explained that I needed a high deductible major medical policy. He told me he had just what we were looking for, and explained all of the wonderful coverage we would receive, such as one million dollars of lifetime coverage. We have been paying for all of our small medical bills out of pocket, which I fully expected, even though I turned in claims, and they always went unpaid. We should have at least had our 1 doctor's visit a year covered, but they never even paid that.

Now, my husband has been in a horrible motorcycle accident. When I gave the hospital my insurance card, she started calling him a cash patient right away, as she knew he wasn't covered for much of anything. Hospitalization is only covered for $500 a day, the room cost $1600 a day. They only pay $500 for xrays, he had xrays, catscans, and mri's. They pay $50 for the doctor's visits, I have no idea what the bill is going to be, but we are going to be saddled with debt for years to come. I feel so foolish for not having read the policy word for word, I relied on the salesman's pitch. If I had saved the $ and never bought the insurance, I would have saved about $30,000. I want everyone to know what poor insurance they are buying when they pay for this, and am writing to every web page I can find so that hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.
