Bristol Meyers Squibb
Wrongful termination Ripoff

Health & Medicine

I was originally employed by Dupont Pharaceuticals as the senior groundskeeper. I had recieved many awards for service and for safety. Never once have I ever recieved or warranted a warning.
Dupont sold the radioapharmaceuticals division to Bristol Myers around 2000 - 2001.

And in light of wrong doings of their former CEO. Peter Dolan and his colleages, which were using funds from our 401-k plans for their own personal ventures, there was a class action lawsuit.

Not long after their human resources department went on damage control by layoffs and terminations. They used the email system as a way of weeding out who were the problem employees by having supposed anonymous questionaires to state your opinion which required you logging on with your screen name and password.

There were roughly over 100 people on our site alone that were spoken too. I myself got caught up in it by sending something not of a sexual or racial nature but it was flagged because of a slightly violent content (it was not of a graphic nature). It was brought to my attention by one of their human resources people and I was told there was an ongoing investigation on email missuse. At that point he told me that I was not to mention this to anyone. I felt that was kind of hipocritical considering some of the most offensive emails people were recieving were coming from their own human resources department. But in turn I did exactly as I was told.

In the months following my supervisor Steven Geddes requested me to allow access to my summer intern so he could input his timecard which involved giving up my password to allow the intern access (complete access - email, everything). When he logged on, he was logging in with my name.

In the months following I was requested by my manager at the time William Dawes to come up to human resources that they wanted to speak with me. I was then told that in light of the recent email investigations that I was being terminated. They never would give me an actual reason or information on any particular thing, they just said it was due to email missuse. I was never able to speak on my behalf they had security walk me out the door like a common criminal before I could say anything in my defense.

I know I had brought attention too myself for the initial email but I did not do anything pryor to that to warrant my termination for fourteen years of dedicated service.

Six months before any of this took place I went through a horrible divorce which drained me physically and emotionally and financially. And now I find myself without even the means to file a lawsuit.
