Fraud charges, collection notices, no answers ripoff

As with all the other posts on this company, I too tried the "free trial" and cancelled well within my 14 days. I submitted a help ticket line, per their TOS, and the case was closed within 2 days.

When I noticed a charge on my credit card for $149.95 (and i never even recived the pills) I called them immediatly and launched a fraud investigation. I also closed out my account so they could no longer charge my account. Now, about 2 months later, I suddenly receive a collection notice for $285.94. Not only have yet to recvie ANYHING from this company in emails, mails ANYTHING, but now they want to try to place a collection against me?

I called the collection company and they already sound suspious. First off, all they ask for is the account number on the notice and then verify your name. Dont just about EVERY OTHER COLLECTION COMPANY verify your social security, address, something besides JUST your name? I told the gentleman that i wanted to dispute this collection and he informed me to send a fax and gave me a fax number. I called again in a few hours and got a different person (by the way, when you call, this company dosen't sound like a typical collection company. I work in the mortgage business and constantly call collection companies to get payoffs on accounts and these guys dont sound anything legit).

When the 2nd guy answered the phone i told him as well that i want to dispute this collection. He "verified" my account the same way the first guy did. Afterward, he said i needed to call another number in order to dispute the account. I called this number and it sounded like someone's answering machine and another instance of "we're busy, leave a message".

I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, but my concerns of course now fall onto this collection. I have excellent credit and want to keep it that way. If I'm right, I dont think they can acutally file anything against my credit given that they dont have my social security number, however, I'm not 100% on that.

Has anyone else had this "collection" problem? And isn't there something more that we can do to shut these guys down for good and TRY to recover our money? From what I've read recently, I'm curious to know if everyone else who has called their bank for fraud or credit card companies, if they are also getting collection notices. It still baffles me where the $ amount came from, and ovbiously, not matter what time of day I call or how many messages I leave, the company NEVER calls back.

I have kept all the docuementation i can on this copmany, including the intial email confirming they are sending something out, to the 3 different websites they now run and the support ticket that i sent telling them to cancel my account. But i'm still very concered on where to go from here.
