Lenscrafters
Incompetent people making glasses

Health & Medicine

I went to this company back on 04 to get exam and glasses. Immediately after leaving the store I knew their was a problem. My head began to hurt really bad.
I called the store and was told it takes time for the brain to adjust. I waited a few day's longer, But the severe headaches continued.

I went back to the store and was given another exam. I didn't have as much as a problem with headaches, But the frames were very painful to my nose. Eventually leaving a scar, that still exist today.in all I think I received 3 or 4 exams and each time the strength was changed and the Doctor would always blame it on the previous doctor.

Finally it got to the point where I didn't want to return to the store due to the employee's talking about me and each time I would return everyone working would stop and stare at me.

I then started contacting the corporate office and after several months they finally told me that their Dr. Wouldn't do another exam. So, I would have to have the exam elsewhere and Lenscrafters would pay for the exam. The last glasses they made prior to this had been at least a year and during the whole time I complained repeatedly that something was very wrong and the pair I then had was similar to the first pair they ever made me.

After having the exam at another eye doctor it was found that my lenses had been in backwards for the last year! The right lenses was in the left, The left side was in the right. That was my reason for the severe headaches the whole time. At the time my right eye was very weak and my left was ok. After wearing those glasses that way for that amount of time when the doctor did the new exam they both had gotten a lot worse.

I went back to Lenscrafters telling them about what the doctor had found and all the manager had to say was "I wonder how that happened"! Not long after that they turned me over to their Insurance company because I had complained about the amount of pain and suffering they put me through. Also during the last year before the new doctor found my problem, Lenscrafters had check my glasses numerous times, But not once did they find their mistake.

Eventually their Insurance company offered me $500 and said that was not admitting wrong doing. I refused to sign their offer and have not heard from them. I was told by the Insurance adjuster that I had one year to file a claim against them or I would lose all rights. I have read on a legal website that In Georgia the time would start from the time the problem was found, not the day I had my first unfortunate experience with Lenscrafters.

I don't want to let those people get away with this! My eyesight is ruined forever due to their negligence. If any Attorney knows the exact length of time and it does start from the time the problem was found, Please contact me if you would be Interested in filing a suit against this company. I still have a couple of months before statute of limitation is up from the time the problem was found until now.
Luxottica the owners of Lenscrafters, Is the ones that turned me over to their Insurance company.
