Unauthorized withdrawal of dues from my account. Ripoff

I was a member of Curves and paid by EFT, having the dues taken out of my account monthly. I had finished paying the year's commitment was now on a month-to-month basis.

In September I had my doctor send a note asking for a medical leave indefinitely because of surgery, arthritis and other medical problems. The leave was granted and dues were no longer being taken out.

In January of without my prior authorization or notification of any kind, Curves resumed withdrawing dues from my account. They did this for 3 months. When I called them, they acknowledged the mistake and promised a refund—which was never issued.

When I called again in May of the owner claimed that they never issued refunds that the dues would be applied when I returned, that they did not grant indefinite leave, that I should have let them know my status, and other excuses. This information of course was never given to me at any time.

When I insisted that I would withdraw from Curves, the owner promised to have the other owner (her mother) call me. She never did and the refund has never been issued.

In addition, I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and the Curves club never bothered to respond to the BBB.
