East County Dental Associates
Fraudulent Billing for services not rendered

Health & Medicine

I went to the dentist and had an exam and xrays taken which was paid for by my insurance. I was told I needed $5200.00 worth of dental work done (that's in addition to what my insurance company is going to pay). They offered to give me a $200.00 discount.

I said I didn't have $5000.00 and they told me I could finance it. I completed a small application and was told I could finance $4000.00, and the dentist would allow me to make payments on the additional $1000.00.

After I left I decided to get a second opinion. I then got a credit card from Care Credit in the mail. I called to cancel the credit card and found out that I had a $4000.00 balance due.

I contacted the dentist office and asked why they charged me for services not rendered, and they said that I agreed to have the work done so they billed me upon my signing the agreement for it.

I told them I decided not to have them do the work and I was told there was a 20% processing fee if I cancel. That's $800.00 they are going to charge me, and I never had any work done.
