I went to Bryant Park Dental office for a routine cleaning. I do not have dental insurance. I had been to my regular dentist only 3 months prior, had ex-rays done, and was told I had no cavities. (AT the time of the prior examination, I did have insurance). I called ahead to make sure they had a hygienist and that it was only $150 for the cleaning.
When I got there for my appointment, I was rushed in and out of Bryant Park Dental. I insisted I ONLY wanted a thorough cleaning. A dental assistant insisted that I have xrays done. I explained I couldn't pay for them. She said they would not charge me, that they had to have them done for "regular procedure." finally, I agreed. When the dentist (Dr. Lee) came in, she said I had three cavities. I told her I didn't want them filled. She then wrote up a very expensive dental plan for me, including scaling at $300 a quarter, veneers at $1000 a tooth, cavity filling at $150 a tooth, plus the $150 charge for the "cleaning." The Plan totaled over $10,000.
She then pushed and pushed these procedures on me that I didn't want and couldn't afford adn told me I could have a discount if I recommended friends because she is new in town from California. A dental hygienist never even cleaned my teeth. The Dentist herself polished them. She did not do any drilling or use any novacaine.
At the front desk, I paid $150 dollars for the cleaning that I wasn't even happy with.
Now I have credit collectors calling me for $444.86 for this Dental Office. The Credit rep said the dentist filled 3 cavities and there is a charge for being seen besides the fee for the cleaning.
