Healthcare Advantage
Ripoff will not refund liars scam refuses to refund scam

Health & Medicine

On March 12 I signed up for what I thought was an honest and legit healthcare discount plan called Healthcare Advantage. I paid a fee to them in the amount of $288.95 with my MBNA credit card. After a week or two I found several different complaints about this company on the Usa Consumer Complaints.com's website I then proceeded to go to the Better Business Bureau's website There I found Healthcare Advantage to hold an unsatisfactory record for an outstanding number of complaints concerning misrepresentation of marketing practices and refund issues.

Now realizing the mistake I had made, I called Healthcare Advantage's customer service number at 1-800-454-1755 on April 1 and spoke with a male customer service representative. I informed him that I wanted my membership and/or account to be terminated immediately and requested a refund in full. He then proceeded to question me about why I was canceling to which I replied I simply do not want your services any longer. He then generated a cancellation confirmation number for me. That number is 050401J*. He also informed me that I would receive a refund of $163.95 in 3-5 business days. I questioned him as to why I was not receiving a full refund in the amount of $288.95. He told me that it was a non-refundable processing fee that was incurred by an individual contracting company called Affordable Health Choice. I asked him for their phone number and address. He said they do not keep record of other companies' numbers or addresses. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor so I could discuss the refund issue at hand. He told me that none were currently available but that he could process a refund dispute form for me and someone would call me within 48 hours or 2 business days. I told him to go ahead and process the form. He confirmed with me that it had been processed and dismissed my call.

April 4 supervisor Joann called and informed me that the $125.00 fee was for processing thru Affordable Health Choice and that it was non-refundable. Once off the phone with her, I got online to view my MBNA credit card account. I was viewing the transactions that had occurred in March and found the Healthcare Advantage. It was by HEALTHCARE ADV00 OF 00-800-4541755 FL in the amount of $288.95. I concluded that if Affordable Health Choices was indeed an individual contracting company that they would have charged me $125.00 and Healthcare Advantage would have charged me a separate fee of $163.95. However, this is not the case. There are not two separate transactions from two different companies. For this I have reason to believe that Affordable Health Choice, if they do exist, was not who charged me $125.00 of the $288.95 and instead Healthcare Advantage charged me $125.00 in addition to $163.95 in one transaction for a sum of $288.95. I am very dissatisfied with Healthcare Advantage's customer service and their business.
