Ripoff dishonest fradulent billing

I have been a longtime satisfied Bally member until last year. I decided to surprise my two daughters with a membership to Bally. Who could pass up $5 to add additional family members to your plan? I thought what a great deal!

During the sales interview the sales rep stated that I could cancel the contract at any time. However, after three to four weeks into the membership I noticed that neither of my daughters had used their membership so I tried to cancel the membership. I was then told that in order to get out of the contract my daughters would have to use the facilities at least 12 or 20 times and express their dissatisfaction with the gym.

I was not able to get my daughter's to use the gym that many times. So, now I'm told that the only way out of the contract is to get a doctor's excuse telling them that they are not physically able to use the gym. I have not had any success in convincing a doctor to write such an excuse.

To my dismay, the club manager told me that I would have to honor the two year contract and there is no way I can cancel it without ruining my credit. After twelve years of loyalty this is how I'm treated. So, now I'm paying $59 dollars a month for the next two years for a plan that is not being used.

For the past 5 to 6 months I have been faithfully honoring this contract, not aware of my options. I plan to file a fraudulent practice claim with my credit card company and see if I can get them to reverse the payments. Money doesn't grow on trees... At least not in my yard.
