I recently purchased some floor models on sale. A console table and leather chair and ottoman from the Bridgewater Nj store, then a few days later I saw the same chair and a matching sofa at the Short Hills NJ store. The first store gave me a shipping date of Jan 2 and the second store said they couldn't deliver on that day because it was to soon and Jan 5 was more reasonable. First CB changed delivery date to Jan 5 so I left a message at second store and awaited delivery of my entire order. Table, chair and ottoman delivered from first store and no sofa and chair from second store. When I spoke to my salesperson (who was always nice and courteous) I was told her manager won't let it leave the floor for another 2 weeks. My charge card was billed the day of purchase so I assumed I owned the sofa. Apparently they feel it is theirs to use as a display till they say so. When a floor model is purchased it is so after one inspects the condition at the time of purchase not weeks after the sale. I contacted corporate and after Louise (customer rep from corporate) checked with the store manager she said it was a miscommunication and I should have been told a piece cannot be taken out of a vignette and the sales person was to blame. The sofa was not in a vignette but sitting up against a wall in front of the cash register desk. I was assured the manager would take the sofa off the floor and that I was never told he wanted to keep it for another 2 weeks.in other words I was called a liar. Customer service from corporate was rude and not very nice (Louise) I am awaiting delivery in a few days and will see what the condition of the cream colored sofa will be.in reading other complaints where people were compensated for their troubles with a gift card. Crate and barrel simply implies their customers are liars that fabricate stories. If you are interested in a floor model bring a pickup truck and take it with you.
