Cruz eReader The Cruz eReader Does Not work and their Cust Service Wil Do Nothing to Help You

Do not under any circumstances buy the CruZ eReader. It is a complete piece of junk, and their customer servIce is abysmal. I wish I could have given it negative stars but it would not let you. First of all you have to break your finger to get the screen to recognize. I called customer service and they said "buy a stylus. "I asked if it could be exchanged - no because I don't have a receipt. I told them it was a gift. No. Flat no, no help at all. At that time was when Borders was closing and they were going over to Kobo. SoI set it aside for months waiting for that to happen and bought a stylus when that changeover happened thinking this would make it better. I tried it again. It took forever to get to the kobo screen because even with the stylus you have to push so hard you make mistakes and get the wrong address, or when you finally get the address it does not go in.

The Kobo site fails all the time - it is down all the time. I knwwo it is not my wireless because we use the same wireless for our Roku and computers. I finally got in one time - of all the times I tried which is many, and tried to search for a book.

I put in book titles and it comes up with nothing. The only thing you can do is browse books they have featured. You can't search on your own - it doesn't find them. The books they feature don't interest me and it is not that many. Of all the times I have tried to use it I have been successful in downloading one book which is not one that I care about but I was trying to see if it would download a book at all - like a test pilot. When earching by category you find nothing - all the categories are empty. You can just get to this area of featured titles which is about 30 books noone of which I am interested in.

If you find something it fails along the way. Or you can't get it to engage because you have to push so hard it is conducive to making mistakes and you get the wrong address. One of the many times I tried I told customer service it failed and they said "Oh ti is down, try later." I tried later and it failed again and again. After pushing so hard and tryign for 45 minutes I got frustrated and set it to the side. You get a headache and carpal tunnel, practically, pushing so hard on each letter - and I am a strong woman. With no exaggeration you could sit there for 45 mintues trying to download a book. I finally gave up - many times. Then months later I would pick it up and try again - only to be met with the same frustrations. Note that I am NOT computer unsavvy; I spent 15 years in the I.T. Field in California.

I have tried customer service over and over and they said with no receipt it is not able to be exchanged - even though it was a gift. They are rude and could not care less about you. Now, it is out of warranty so there is nothing I can do about it. But literally from the day my husband got it to me to now I have been successful in loading one book. It just BARELY works with the stylus, which I had to pay for with my own money, and without the stylus you can forget it. Again, their customer service is RUDE and completely unhelpful.

They know this is a piece of junk - that is why they had the pat answer "get a stylus" all ready.
I will never buy any Cruz product. This is the first one I have had and the last one. I plan to put this review on other sites on the net and YouTube as well.

I have never in my life been so completely dissatisifed with a product as this one. Do not buy.
