Desktop Will Not Type All Letters, $169 Tech Support Charge

Bought a HP desktop 10 days ago from walmart, it won't type all the letters all the time, thought it was keyboard, but does same thing with a new keyboard i bought. Called HP and was told it was a software issue and only hardware is guaranteed so have to pay $ 169.00 for tech support which still cant figure it out. This is crazy.!!! Will never buy a HP again.
