A bigtime ripoff

I found CircuitMicro using an internet search engine. I filled out the application for a large screen TV and paid their $39 fee. I then received an email stating I've been approved, but that I couldn't have the large screen TV. I had to choose from a selection of cheaper and smaller TVs. I wasn't happy with this and requested my application fee be refunded. I sent emails and called the company. All to no avail. Luckily I wasn't out too much money.

However, I do know a few people that have been swindled out of hundreds of dollars by this company. The email response that I did get from Circuitmicro appeared to be a canned-reply type email. So I visisted their site again and used the name John Doe with a ficticious address and such. I then received an email stating I was approved. What does that tell you?

I got together with the swindled people and we filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. The Commission stated that if they get enough complaints against this company, the Commission will file formal charges against them. So go ahead an file that complaint with the Commission (www.ftc. Gov).
