Straight Talk
Defective phones, horrible customer service internet

Electronics and household app.

I bought a Straight Talk phone for my son-it is the $99.98 samsung slider with the QWERTY keyboard. I liked it, so i bought myself on - the LG 290C slider for $79.98. Almost right away i started having problems with mine. It began shuttin itself off. I called customer service and told them what was happening. They gave me instructions that they give on every call i make-to take the battery out for one minute, turn the phone on and dial *22890. I did what they said but told them it wasn't going to work-it's an electrical problem i was assuming. Since i couldn't get the phone to shut itself off on demand, they told me that they would not replace it. I argued with them-as usual i was on the phone with them forever because there is not only a launguage barrier but they are given scripts-not able to just answer questions, they have to stick to the script and if you stump them, they ask you to hold for 3 minutes.

Anyway, i told them that i did not accept what they were telling me and refused to allow them to brush me off. Finally, a man came on the line and asked, what do you want? To which i replied, i want a phone that doesn't shut off unless i make it shut off. He still argued with me and i asked him where in the description of the phone was it stated that it would randomly shut itself off? He agreed to replace the phone. But i had to send mine in, which left me without a phone. I got two used ones in return-one was so scratched up! I bought a new phone, i think i should have got a new phone in return. I have called them three times to tell them that i have an extra phone and they don't seem to understand. The last time, i was on the line with them almost an hour and i said, ok that's it! If you want this phone, send me something to mail it back in. I'm done trying. I still have the phone.

Now my son's is shutting off by itself. And mine has now three times had a dead screen but a lit keyboard. This is not uncommon-i have two friends that both have the LG phone and they had similar problems.

I dread sending ours back again. I know that i have to have at least an hour to talk to them. Heck, last time i refilled my phones it took 32 minutes-and that is after i finally cut the lady off! This is so inconvenient-i have to write down all my numbers, email all my pics, and then enter it all into some used phone that i will get. And by the way-the last one they send me dialed some lady in Florida when i tried to call voice mail-so that was another call.

I really think that there should be an investigation into this company and these phones they are selling. I love the service price, i don't have a complaint about the service. It's these phones and the customer service. I think that if i, my son, and two friends i know that have straight talk phones (one whom i recommended it too and i was SO embarrassed!) have all had problems, and we have all dealth with customer service about the problems, then they must know there is a major problem with the quality of these phones. And i wouldn't be surprised if they knew it and that was why they make it so hard and unattractive to get a replacement phone-because they are hoping you'll but a new-which they suggessted to me when i complained about going without a phone while i waited for them to replace my defective one.
