Ripoff mail in rebate for i90c phone denied for no reason with no appeal Nationwide Nationwide

Signed up with Nextel on 6/03. Got a plan and i90c phone with $50 mail in rebate. Rebates take awhile. No problem
9/03 I received notice from Nextel that the rebate was denied. I called the rebate center and was informed that I must have changed plans or sent the rebated in to late. I assured them that I sent it promptly and still had the same phone and plan. They informed me that they could not help me even after speaking with a supervisor. "They are just acting on the info from Nextel."
I immediatly called Nextel Customer Care. Was informed that they could find no reason that the rebate was denied and that I should call the Rebate Center. I asked to speak to a supervisor and explaned the situation again. He told me that he could see no reason for the denial of the rebate. He also told me that he could not authorize it but would could credit my account $50. I told him that would be fine and thank you. Issue Resolved—Wrong
10/03 Six weeks and two statements later no $50 credit. Called Customer Care center. They have no record of my calls from 9/03. They cannot help me I need to call the Rebate Center. I call the Rebate Center. No answer.
Under normal circumstances I would just cancel the plan but that would incur at least a $200 fee. Be sure that I will not renew this contract
