Ripoff Dishonest Illegal Sales Fake Company Omaha Nebraska

Electronics and household app.

I was driving home from school and had stopped at a stoplight. A guy in the van next to me starting waving and yelling to get my attention. I rolled down my window and spoke with him briefly. He asked me if I wanted some home audio speakers. I asked "why" and proceeded to make a number of wrong decisions.

We pulled off into an apartment complex and he showed me the speakers. His story was good even though the whole time warning signals were going off in my head. He said he was supposed to install them in the local Hooters in about 30 minutes and had received twice as many as he was supposed to install. He said that it was a distrubution mess up and happened from time to time. He also said that his boss usually just kept the merchandise and wrote it off, but this time he wanted to sell it first and keep the rest he didn't sell.

He wanted me to buy them from him for $500 a pair, but I ended up paying $300 for the pair plus $20 for some "beer" or something he was going to buy on the way home. I realized my mistake almost instantly and followed him while calling the sheriff's department. I can't believe what a moron I was because I had so many opportunities to turn it down and I wanted to. I just thought it was such a great opportunity. Not at all the case.

He was white and about 5'7", 140lbs, probably about 20 years old. He had blonde spiked hair and wore khakis and a black leather (probably fake) jacket. He spoke very quickly and was very convincing and nice about everything. He drove a white van (possibly Chevy Astro) with a black rack on top. It had In-Transit stickers on it and the passenger rear tailight was burnt out.

This whole scenario took place in Omaha, NE around 114th and Pacific going westbound. I believe this is just starting to happen in Nebraska because I have seen very few reports in this area. Seemed to be more common in CA and FL. If anybody sees this happening or is approached by one of these persons get all the information you can and call the local police or sheriff's department. If you can delay them and get them to give you the pitch while police are in route please do so. Thank you.
