Required Data Package

Having been a loyal customer Verizon Wireless has now mandated a required DATA package on most of it's phones. I will have to downgrade my phone if I choose to replace it. I wanted to upgrade my phone with a better camera and a QWERTY keyboard but they are telling me the phone I want requires this DATA package costing an additional $9.99 a month when I know for a fact that the phone works just fine without the DATA package. I also have DATA blocked on all 3 phones on our account. I was told I could still have the blocks but I would still have to pay the $9.99 a month.
Verizon Wireless also got rid of the calling plan we were using so we had to sign up for a new one adding an additional 200 minutes to our plan which we don't need. We never came close to the 500 minutes we had before but now we have 700 minutes and are being charged $10 more a month. Add that to the DATA to our 3 phones and that an added $40 a month for services and minutes we don't need or want.
