White Van Scam PTS Protecsound International Scam Artists ripoff, stero, home theater scam, FBI virginia, falls church, washington DC ripoff business from hell

Electronics and household app.

On August 08 I was approached by 2 guys in a white Chevy minivan license plate # H379945 (Virginia) that asked if I wanted a stereo system for home. This took place as I was in Best Buys prkg lot walking to my car. I just started my car when they pulled up in front of me and asked. I said "what do you have?". They pulled up next to me and said they worked for a professional home theater installation company from Baltimore and they were doing a job in the DC area. There were 2 guys in their mid 20s (one white one hispanic). One (white driver) got out and walked around to the passanger door, opened it up, and there stood 3 large boxes.

Two of them were large speakers, like concert type speakers, and one was a home theater system (PTS Protecsound). The guy showed me some literature and then opened one of the boxes and handed me a sattalite speaker to the home theater system. It felt heavy and like very good quality. On the bottom of the box he pointed out that it said "Retails for $1999.00". He asked what I was willing to pay for them. I said give me a price. He said that $800.00 was a fair price. I laughed and said there was no way in hell I could pay that. He proceeded to talk about my "nice" car and how I have to be loaded. He said that I need to make up my mind quick cause he had to meet his boss at a local mall.

He then explained again that when they installed a job earlier that day they realized they had one extra set and that their boss would keep it if he found out. He was trying to make a few bucks for him and his partner. I could understand that so I offered him $300.00 and said take it or leave it. He picked it up and put it in the back of my truck. I gave him the cash and asked if I could have his card. I guess you know what his answer was. I thought we did each other a favor at that price.

So just in case I took down their tag numbers as you see above. I went home and hoping I didnt get taken I plugged them into my cd player. They worked great! Sound great! I cant complain about the quality. The problem is I looked all over the internet to see what they, re really worth. No such luck. Dont exist.

Only complaints and comments about the "White Van Scammers". Reported not only all over the United States but internationally as well. I contacted the FBI Washington DC Field Office and gave them all the information I gathered. They seemed like they knew what I was talking about so Im guessing its happened all over the Virginia, DC and Maryland area.

Anyway - buyer beware of those parking lots and traffic lights. And for god sakes, if you run into them make sure you dont spend more than $150.00 for those spekers cause at that price you really are getting a good deal on these Super high quality speakers! Ill post again if Im contacted as part of their investigation. Keep an eye out!
