Electronics and household app.
On 12/27/08, I purchased an inexpensive digital camera for my daughter just to see how well she could handle the responsible of taking care of it before I consider purchasing a "better" camera. The sales guy convinced me to purchase their ESP warranty just in case the camera was damaged or it malfunctioned. The warranty did indicate that it was protected against "accidental and negligent" damage, so I felt good about purchasing it. It was $18.00 for a one-year plan — seemed fair. But what I didn't realize was that Ritz camera had plans of filing bankruptcy within the next month or so of my purchase, thus leaving me to feel like I've been duped. And, my daughter's camera needs to be repaired or replaced. So today I am looking at the warranty itself, and noticed that the salesperson put the actual date of purchase as the expiration date — WTH? I mean, really? So it's my fault that I didn't pay close enough attention to that error, as the store was preparing to close and mistakes happen. So even if I win that case, what about my warranty? The bankruptcy was effective April. And by the way, there is no telephone number for ESP that I have been able to locate.
