I received a flyer and contacted them to inquire about programming and costs. The man did not give his name. He asked me for my credit card number. I asked him what did he need with my cc# for. He said to do a credit check. I asked what for? He said because the equiptment was worth over $1,000.00 and to see if I had to pay a deposit. He came back on the line and said I was approved and didn't have to pay a deposit, would I like service. I said no, I am leaving town in the morning, I was just checking prices and would think about it. He said "well, call this # and tell them whether you want it or not" I said "no, I am leaving town, I will think about this" I then hung up.
While checking my bank acct. Later that day, I noticed 2 holds on my acct. 1 for 1.00 and one for 25.00. I called them back raising cane. They said to get the fax # for my bank, (a long distance call) and I asked why I had to go through that when I did not authorize anything to be charged to my acct. He said quite rudely "do you want your money back or not" I then hung up.
I called back. The man was nice and called the bank and the bank said the 'hold' would drop off in a couple of days. My hands were tied. That was thursday. I returned to town today, wednesday and 49.99 was charged to my account by them on Monday. I called dish network. They said "not thier problem" and put me on hold til the phone went dead 30 minutes later.
I read the reports of other people having problems. I did not order service from them and called the # back he told me to as well and just got more rude people and no satisfaction, but just more money taken from my account that I did not authorize. I will contact the attorney general and my personal attorney tomorow. I am also filing a complaint with the better business bureau and encourage everyone else who had this problem to do the same. I do not expect to get my money back after reading these posts. We'll see.
