Cyber Test Inc AKA Equipfix
Parent Company Encompass Service Solution Sent my repaired device to wrong address and failed to make an effort to locate it

Electronics and household app.

I arranged to have my Palm Pilot repaired under my contract with Cyber Test while I was away from home in San Francisco. I gave them my temporary address. The address was on an avenue. I tracked the box that Cyber Test sent me and saw that they were unable to deliver. I called UPS and arranged to pick the box up at the central UPS office. I went all the way across town to pick it up.
I put a note in the box when I packed it, indicating that UPS was unable to deliver to the address on the packing slip. I requested that they deliver to my son-in-laws office, which receives regular UPS deliveries.
Several days later I saw that Cyber Test had completed the repair and sent it via UPS. I tracked the delivery, and saw, once again, that UPS was unable to deliver. Unfortunately, I was not able to check tracking till late on Friday night. UPS was closed as was Cyber Test.
I called UPS first thing on Monday morning and requested that they deliver the package to their central office. Several hours later I received a phone call confirming that I could pick up the package at the UPS office after 7:30 P.M. I went to the UPS office on Tuesday morning to find that the package was lost. I was told to contact Cyber Test and request that they start a trace on the package.
I called Cyber Test and was told that they would start a trace. They told me that the trace could take 10 days. I called UPS two days later to ask about progress on the trace, and was told that they had no record of any such request. They also told me that the package had been delivered to an address with a similar number to mine, but ending in street instead of avenue.
I called Tom Sutlive, their Senior VP and left a voice mail requesting that he call me. I called again the next day, and left another message. Neither call was returned. I called Staples and told them the situation. They said that they would contact Cyber Test, and were sure that their call would get some action.By this time the package had been missing for a week.
I had the address where the package was reported to have been delivered. It was on the other side of town in a neighborhood where some areas were not always safe. I am a woman and was from out of town, and really didnt know which areas were safe and which were not. Nevertheless, on Sunday I went to the address. It was a multi-family dwelling, and I had no idea who might have the package. I rang all the doorbells, and finally left a note with my name and phone number and a request that they call if they had the package.
On Monday morning I received a call from a woman who said she had the package. I drove back to her house having no idea what I would find when I got there. Luckily I found a lovely woman who returned my package and refused any reward. This was the only good thing to come out of my Cyber Test experience.
Later that day I received a call from a Cyber Test tech. He told me that Tom Sutlive had told him to call me. I am furious with Cyber Test. I have an instant message with Staples support showing that I gave them the correct address when I set up the repair. I gave them instructions to send the repaired device to deliverable address when I sent in the Palm Pilot. They ignored my note and sent it, once again, to the wrong address.
Cyber Test had ten days to find my device and get it back to me. I have never received any indication that they care. Evidently they consider their work done when they complete a repair. Getting it back to the owner is not important to them. I have no confidence in Cyber Test. I will avoid taking any kind of service contract with them in the future.
