Bad cutomer service - AT&T CT810 Incite

I am being charged $42 to repair a part that was obviously defective in a LG CT810. There is no way I could have broken this internal part but LG is saying it is abuse on my part. Short of taking a pair of pliers or screwdriver and intentionally destroying my phone please tell me how I could have broken it.
At this point I am very angry and intend to post on as many websites like this that I can find.
