Defective tuners on thomson consumer electronics televisions

I have a proscan 27" television from july '94. Bought it brand new. My mother-in-law has two 25" RCA TV sets. They have the same problem. The picture drops on the screen due to a defective tuner. I heard TCE knows of this problem but i haven't gotten a response from them yet. This is a widespread problem with their TV sets.
