Took my money and would not give me my compute

Electronics and household app.

HHgregg had a laptop on sale the week of 3/15/09 at a great price. When I called the store on Sunday I was told that they did not have any of the computers in stock but they had some in the warehouse that would be delivered to the store on Tuesday and I could come in and pay for the computer and then pick it up on Tuesday.

On Tuesday I contacted the store and was told that the computers were still in the warehouse and would be delivered to the store on Saturday. I arrived at the store after 5 pm on Saturday and I was told that my computer had already been picked up on Tuesday 3/17. After informing the clerk that I did not have my computer I waited for several people to research the invoice. The manager walked and was informed of the situation. He offered to check the surveillance video, 30 minutes later he comes back and tells me that there is a problem and he is unable to download any video feed. He also stated that he has an invoice signed by employees of the store and supposedly me but he is unable to show me the invoice. He then offers to call me on Monday with an update.

Of course, I questioned how someone was able to come into the store and pick up my computer without my receipt and without showing id and he stated he did not know and he would need to verify with the video that I did not pick up the computer. I was forced to go home without my computer on Saturday. The following Monday I went back to the store to see if any progress had been made. I spoke with the manager and was told that the surveillance was still down and he did not know when it will be back up nor how long the store had been without surveillance and until he got this information there was nothing he could do. Once again I walked out of the store without a computer and no knowledge of when I can expect to have it.

I must add that the manager was very rude when I went back to the store and acted like I was bothering him by questioning about the money that I spent for the merchandise that I did not have. He was unable to answer my questions and expected me to just accept what he was telling me. At this point I had been without my money for 8 days and without a computer that I was told that I would have 6 days prior.

The following day I contacted my bank and was issued a refund of my money.

This is the most unbelievable experience that I have every encountered. I had never shopped at Hhgregg before and will definitely NEVER set foot in that store again.
