Electronics and household app.
I too have been duped by ShopNBC by their high-energy, colorful hype about the fabulous V2 Premier line of super all-inclusive wonder computers. Just plug-in and play? Bull - !
From day one I have had nothing but problems with this $2300 rip-off computer system. First off, the digital camera never worked. I called the support techs about this about a half-dozen or so times without satisfaction. I finally gave up on the camera that they couldn't or wouldn't help me with.
Then the printer wouldn't work properly. I called for help with that and after quite a few phone calls, several hours of being on hold, being transferred to different techs and uninstalling and installing the drivers several times it works occaisionally.
Now for the past month the computer has been freezing up completely. Valuable information which I had been working on has been lost because the only way to solve this problem was to turn the computer off and then back on again. Of course, I had talked to several technicians about this problem and they have had me do system recovery to an earlier date before this problem occured, but this failed to correct the problem. It still froze up.
When I call the tech support line I have a 50/50 chance of getting someone that speaks understandable English. So I called again and they got me to the place that told them the CPU fan isn't running and the CPU tempurature was over 68 degrees C and shouldn't be over 40C. So therefore the computer runs hot and quits.
They then had me call the hardware support line and told them what happened. They said they would have to send out a new CPU fan and bracket because sometimes they come broken. I asked how it could be broken since I haven't moved my conputer since I got it. The tech said "It just happens - it breaks." Anyway to make a long story short they wanted a credit card number from me to be able to order the broken parts.
I thought this thing was under full warranty. I asked why they needed the credit card number since the computer was under full warranty. And they said "just in case". Just in case of what? I was even stupid enough to take out an additional year's warranty on it.
I can't believe I could be so naive and think that supposedly reputable companies would rip off unsuspecting consumers of their very hard-earned cash on a product so worthless. I could go on and on, but I'm sure I've expressed my unhappiness with Viscom, ShopNBC and this computer system.
So the bottom line is, if it's too good to be true it probably is.
