Exorbitant cancellation fees, terrible customer service Irvine, California

I tried to cancel an internet order shortly after placing it (because I found a better deal at a local store that would have saved me $150). Hamgo had not yet started processing it, but they were still going to charge me a 20% cancellation fee. There was no pop up window, warning, or terms that needed to be accepted to indicate such a fee.

After searching their website, I was able to find this policy under a link for "returns & exchanges". I didn't originally think to look there because I didn't have anything to be returned or exchanged - just cancelled.

I believe they should have their cancellation policy clearly stated during the check out procedure, as opposed to buried in their "returns & exchanges" link. I spoke with an employee, and even though the merchandise was still on the shelf, the fee would not be waved.

Unfortunately, I checked the BBB too late. Hamgo.com has the lowest rating possible - F. I emailed this information to the company and asked them if they were aware of their rating. Their response was "Yes we are. And we don't care." I understand their is not much that can be done at this point.

I will certainly be more careful regarding future purchases. Please check out any online company prior to purchasing them.
