Rebate ripoff

I bought a telephone (not cell) from Circuit City. There was a $10.00 rebate associated with this. The catch is that you have to send in your receipt and the UPC from the box and wait 8 weeks.

After 12 weeks, I returned to the store to return the phone stating that I hadn't received the rebate. They said it was longer than the 30 days allowed for returns.

I was given an 800 number that was bogus for the rebate program.

Later I was given another phone number where no one ever returned my voice mail messages. Weeks later, I sent an email which was returned. They said there was a back log of rebates to process and finally sent the rebate.

If I hadn't called, they would have never sent the rebate check.
