Beware Of Marketsource—company Run On "Good Ole Boys Philosophy" Took advantage of me—worked me to death and gave promotions to the guys! Fresno-Ca and California

Worked for Marketsource for 16 months. This was a weekends only job. To get a day off one had to sign their life away. I had 2 days off on weekends, not weekends but days in 16 months. The company has occasional blackout weekends, which are forced time off with little notice. I requested time off to attend a life-long friend's memorial service and was told I could not take the time—illegal—I took the time. Time off was one issue, there are others.

I worked every opportunity offered except one and I ran all over this area and had little reimbursement for gas. I noticed my super did not call me for a week or two after I turned down that shift. My super always said you do such a "good job". We had to call in/out for each visit/shift. It seemed to be fine until about 3 months ago and from then on I heard about just about every thing I did but you still "do such a good job".

Well things seemed to boil overnight. For 3 months I was getting emails, phone calls (call me immediately!) Usually it was for extra work but these calls and emails became very disruptive. The last straw was recently when I was again accused of fraud by not calling in/out. It got to the point where I was calling in 2 and 3 time for each visit and that seemed to stop the weekly calls but for some reason, my weekend calls did not register and my super never asked what happened; just flat said I did not call! I was accused every weekend of not calling in. I had absolute proof that I called but I quit, I can only deal with so much—I did quit.

The other part of my job was merchandising. I received up to 16 boxes of merchandise weekly to the point where I had no more room and my living room was full. If the stores were ready for the merchandise that would be one thing. About 1 month ago, 3 of my 9 stores threw out all the demo materials and refused to accept anymore, when I relayed this to my super he ignored me yet all the merchandise was still coming to my home. Now I have to sort all this stuff out and return it.

There was a great amount of unpaid time, gas was not paid and paper and ink. Reports had to be printed daily and weekly and they had great amounts of ink in them. Reports had to be filed same day no matter. I would get home after a long day and try to get my reports in and the system would not come up and reports were late; it was a loosing battle. Further in a field where 80% of employees were men; the good ole boys club was very active. My co-worker was off 1-2 weekends the entire time I worked there.

I am not done with them. They did not pay me within the required 72 hours as the law requires. My super was really bad there was constant harassment about most things-but you do a good job!
