Sprint's phone pricing is very high - They are not willing to negotiate or price match Cleveland

Electronics and household app.

I am an existing Sprint Customer, nearing the end of my original 2 year contract. Although I have numerous complaints about Sprint's Customer Service, I am still considering renewing my contract with them, due to a lack of better options.

With that said, the primary complaint that I have, which remains unresolved by Sprint is this:

Sprint charges and exorbitant amount for their new phones and will not match other established retailers pricing.

Sprint sells the HTC Touch for an advertised base price of $499.00 (I wanted to provide a link, but their site does not have a page dedicated to this phone. The phone can be found as advertised above at sprint.com)

The manufacturer's (HTC) advertised base price is $349.99.

Both Sprint and HTC offer a $150 credit for new 2 year agreements, and a $100 mail in rebate for this phone. However, HTC offers and additional $100 instant rebate for this product.

With all discounts, rebates, etc. Applied, Sprint's price for this phone is $249 and HTC's price is $0.00

Obviously, it is an easy decision on which retailer to use, but since HTC only services new customers, I cannot capitalize on these savings without incurring additonal loss at this time. (3 months of carrying 2 contracts with Sprint) When my contract expires, this pricing may no longer be available.

Sprint will not match any other retailers price or offer any alternatives or incentives.

I have called and e-mailed Sprint's customer service many, many times, requesting to know why they do not match advertised pricing, including those of their strategic business partners. (HTC manufactures the Touch phone specifically branded w / the Sprint Logo for exclusive use by the carrier)

To date, all I have gotten back is "that's our policy", and a large amount of wasted time.

Sprint's refusal to negotiate with an existing customer, or to provide goods at a reasonable price is unacceptable to me.
