I am also a victim of Blue Hippo, I called the number on Sept. 25,07 and they went through all the mumbo jumbo, and told me that my first payment would come out on Oct. 5,07 and I had till then to cancel my order. However I called on Oct. 4,07 to cancel my order and on Oct. 5th low and behold, they took out $124. I called them on Oct. 6,07 and told them I cancelled my order, and they said yeah but just because you cancel your order you don't get a refund, and I said why not I'm not getting the product and I can't afford it right now, and all they offered me was a $124 in-store credit, and I said I don't want to buy any of your crap, I want my money back. Again, got the same run around. She said I needed to cancel my order within the 7 day grace period, I said "what grace period"? Nobody told me about a grace period. I said "how many times have you pulled this trick on people? Is this how you rope them in and take their money"?
Frustrated I called my bank and they suggested I file a ACH affadavit and have my bank dispute my claim for me. So, I am waiting to see what the results will be. I wish I had read these reports BEFORE I called them. I could have saved myself ALOT of headache.
I also suggest that you tell your bank to not authorize any other transactions from them, because I'm willing to bet they are going to do it again. Or close your account and open a new one. That's what I am going to do. I hate to, but I'm not giving them another cent, and I am going to keep calling them until they do something about it!
Wish I had never called them.
