Protron television warranty bogus ripoff Ontario California

I bought a Protron 32" HD Ready LCD television through ShopNBC. I have a probelm with the television. The LCD screen in defective.
Protron changed the one year in-home warranty to six months from the one year warranty I was given. This is against the law.

ShopNBC seems to have no control over Protron to make them responsible for this unlawful change in warranty. Protron supposedly ingnores the emails sent to them by ShopNBC. Protron wants me to ship my television back to them (UPS cost approxmaately $300). They will not pay for the return shipment and claim the only Protron repair men are in California. I suggested they send the repair man from California or send me a prepaid label to return the television (which ever was cheaper!).

Protron said FedEx would be at my house to pick up the television on a certain date. Obviously they lied because no one picked up my television.

I think they're waiting for my television to run out of its one year limited warranty.

I am in contact with the Attorney General's office and they said that the original warranty cannot be changed and suggested I file a complaint against ShopNBC and Protron.

I can't believe ShopNBC continues to sell these products because I am obvously not the first person to encounter this problem. They could send me a prepaid label and cancel all contracts with Protron. The only way to stop Protron's illegal ways is to get rid of them and stop promoting their products on ShopNBC.
