Fraud Alert with Conns, They really do CONN u @ Conn's

On 7/15 my girlfriend and i went to Conn's in Baton Rouge, La and bought some new electronics for our new home. MY girlfriend used 6 Months FREE INTREST Conn's credit to buy 62in tv / 27in lcd tv / tv stand / 3 yr warr on tv's / which gave a total of $4050.00

We had to replace everything because we moved out here after hurricane katrina totaled my other house in chalmette, La. Anyway after chelsea was approved we had to put a deposit of $715.00 and then sign paper work so we can do other shopping.

After a few months of paying a monthly bill of $200.00 i was going through the files and saw that Conn's had charged us 5,421.66 Finance Charge of 1,685.82 for this loan which included over $1366.00 in un-needed insurance. I contacted Conn's about this and questioned (How is it you can include this and not inform us about this) I was told WE DO THIS TO EVERYONE WHO USES CONN'S CREDIT. I told them i do not need this insurance because i have home owners insurance which would cover these items.

The guy told me to come into the store and bring a copy of my home owners insurance so they can cancel credit insurance and apply my home owners insurance to the loan. So i signed the paper work and left. After a few days i called the automated credit line to check on Chelsea's credit limit. It showed the insurance has been removed.

So a few more months went by, Chelsea and I talked about a REFI on all of her bills. So we went to Wells Fargo and called every company she owed money to so we can get an updated balance. So we called Conn's on 12 and was told her balance was $1208.56 the Wells Fargo company printed a check in the amount of $1208.56 so the next day 12/16 i went into conns and ask the lady for pay off on chelsea.

The lady replied $1208.56 so i gave her a check. She gave me a receipt showing account PAID IN FULL and $0.00 Balance owed.

Now this all took place on 12/16

TODAY 02/04 we are getting calls 4 times a day for the past 3 days from CONN'S saying we owe them over $1800.00

I said NO we do not account is paid in full. The lady with Conn's credit said they made a mistake and we owe them $1800.00

I contacted Baton Rouge store manager and he said we do in fact owe them 1800.00 because they made a mistake with the loan.

I provdied receipt showing account PAID IN FULL $0.00 OWED the manager said there is nothing he can do.

We did a REFI to pay this account and other accounts OFF and there is nothing they can do???

Chelsea is contacting a Lawyer about this Monday to see what can be done about this. The Credit people at Conn's are SO damn rude.

Since we moved to this location in Denham Springs, La 6 we have spent almost $11,000.00 with Conn's and they will not get anymore of our business. The company seems to like scams.
