Fourth Xbox 360 Overheats and Freezes, Paid Repair Required

I'm now going on my 4th Xbox360. They overheat, freeze up, and disk tray sticking ect!
You can only get it fix for free if you got it before 1/1/06 even though many people are saying to this day 10/09/06 they buy one new and it die's in 3 hours or so!
Its $140.00 to get it fix and the people that do that are saying they still get the same problems as before some are saying when they get it back it has a BORN on date of NOV/DEC 05!
Even if they buy it NEW some say BORN on Nov/Dec 05!?!
Then that would mean their givin you back someones used system or the whole thing that they ran out of systems last X-mas was a lie?
Plus a Warranty is $60.00!
