Renegs on $400 warranty plans for laptops!

My sister bought a Compaq laptop a few years ago from Circuit City. She paid a $400 warranty for it, which was almost the cost of the computer itself (which turned out to be an overheating piece of junk.)

Why would someone pay this much for a warranty? Answer: When the salesperson tells you that it covers literally anything, including accidentally dropping it.

So my sister signed up. And years later she drops it, the screen cracks, and you can no longer read anything at all.

She takes it back, with the receipt and the warranty. No dice.

They no longer have that warranty. Too much abuse by customers, they said. Well too bad. You can't reneg on the warranty after the fact.

Not only does my sister have a laptop she can't use, but she paid an egregious amount for the warranty, which is not being honored by this band of thieves.

If you were stupid enough to have such an open warranty plan, that's your problem. But I will make sure noone buys a computer from your crooked enterprise ever again.

My sister just went on study abroad to Spain. She needed a laptop, so my grandparents footed the bill for ANOTHER COMPUTER. Notice how the costs add up, thanks to Circuit City?
