Bait and switch Ripoff

Several months ago I was in need of a new smart phone. Being a verizon customer and a satisfied one I felt no risk to continue the relationship. After many months of research I decided on a TREO 650. My only complaint was that it did not take advantage of the EVDO Broadband speed. So be it. I specifically asked if that was to change, and the answer was no. No problems the phone is great. I in fact recommended 9 other members of my company to purchase one, which they all did. All from Verizon. 9 new multi year contracts, and new TREO's that cost between 200-300 a piece.

Well here we are just a few months later and low and behold they now have a 700P unit with the EVDO Broadband support I wanted.

I checked with PALM and verified that Verizon had the 700P available for testing and QA/QC when I bought the 650. I contacted Verizon to see what could be done to upgrade, and I would of course pay any difference.

Verizon told me they would do me the favor of allowing me to upgrade to the new unit in September. No credit for my current unit, no thanks for the 9 other contracts I brought them. Just a slap in the face.

I spend $200.00 monthly on my phones, as do the rest of my co-workers. This is not how you reward a good customer. 2 weeks ago I went to the Verizon store to get my wife a new pink Razr from motorola. With all the accessories another $250.00 out the door.

This is a shame. I will not hesitate to cancel my account, and the other 9 accounts even at my cost to sever my ties to a company that doesnt appreciate the business. Dont crap where you eat my father always said. Well they have not learned that yet.
