Claimed to not receive my rebate, sales receipt (pre-printed by Fry's Electronics)

I received a postcard from Samsung stating that they could not honor my request for a rebate on a Samsung ML 2010 laser printer.
Their reason not to honor my rebate was that they did not receive a sales receipt with my request (the UPC cutout was accepted).
Now, anyone that shops at Fry's Electronics knows that a rebate receipt is printed out for the customer at the register when a purchase is completed. This rebate receipt (printed on regular cash register roll paper) has Name, address, and phone number fields that have to be completed by the customer. There is no other form that has to be completed.
I contacted Samsung and spoke a customer service rep. I asked her what she needed from me to complete my rebate. She said that they did not receive a sales receipt. I asked if I could email a copy (that I scanned) to her. She said that I could only fax it. (I did not have a fax—so I asked to speak to her supervisor).
I got on the line with the supervisor and asked how they were able to get my information (Name, address, etc.,) to send me a post card (stating that they needed a rebate/sales receipt) if they did not receive my correspondence. Remember, the rebate receipt from Fry's is the actual form that has to be filled out by the customer in order to receive a rebate. So, they in fact did receive my rebate/sales receipt or they could not have gotten my information to send me the postcard. (I have a different return address on the envelope)
She just kinda laughed and said 'good question'!! Anyhow, she decided at that point to re-process my rebate request. I have to wait another 6 to 8 weeks to receive my check.
I believe that Samsung does this same tactic to many others out there and they know that many people will not have copies of their receipts or will not want to waste their time to attempt to get the rebate.
