LCD TV rebate "lost" and not honored USA

I bought a Samsung LCD TV several months ago, and there was a promotion for a $100 NFL.com coupon. I sent in the rebate form, store receipt, and cut out the UPC from the box. I mailed it all in well before the rebate deadline. Proceeded to wait 8 weeks and heard nothing. Used their automated rebate status checker on checkmyrebate.com and there was no record of my rebate. Called customer service and was told they had no record of my rebate. I did not have any mail returned to me. Funny, I have been using the postal system my whole life and never really had mail get "lost" and not get delivered or returned to sender. Now I have no recourse as I sent them the UPC from the box, and they conveniently "lost" my mailing. I believe this is a scam, just like other rebate processing centers who "lose" a certain percentage of incoming rebate forms.
