Rebate ripoff

Electronics and household app.
TigerDirect.com and OnRebate.com have employed deceptive incentives of an implied Rebate when purchasing products from Tiger Direct.com. After browsing the Internet, comparing prices and product specifications and in consideration of the anticipated prices (after rebate) of a HP 5000 computer and a X2Gen 19-inch LCD monitor, I selected these products advertised by TigerDirect for purchase. However, when it came to claiming the rebate, I found that the stipulations (never revealed in the advertisement) for obtaining the rebate were so full of pitfalls that qualifying and obtaining the rebate was impossible. It was not unlike a Minoan labyrinth where completion of all the steps without a misstep would require the cleverness of Theseus.
I have purchased products, before, from reliable merchants, where rebates are offered, and never had a problem. This merchant and, I suspect, a related, if not totally controlled enterprise, Rebate.com, seemingly had no intention at the outset of honoring the rebate.
In summary, I ordered the products, paid with a valid credit card, received the order and found the computer and monitor as advertised. I sent in a copy of the invoice, the barcode from the shipping cartons and all other documentation that provided more than adequate proof of purchase and my implied right to receive the rebate. I have tried to contact both TigerDirect and Rebate.com but they have not had the interest or courtesy to respond to my request.
