Rebate ripoff scam

Just like the last report I read on this website, I too bought a Tivo & accidentally threw out the box it came in. Keep in mind this is my second Tivo & I have boasted about Tivo to friends and family for years. I sent in for my rebate & it was denyed. I wrote Tivo. They said I had to send in the UPC off the box. I explained what had happened with the box going to the trash. They replied they had to have the UPC to ensure I had actually purchased the unit.

This is the best part! I bought the Tivo from the Tivo website... I sent a copy of the receipt from both Tivo & my credit card. They again replied but this time they were out of excuses; they said, sorry, we have to follow the rules of the rebate offer!
