Rip-off! Unauthorized charges

A $29.95 debit appeared on my bank statement I did not recognize. The bank said it came from SurplusAlert and they gave the phone number. I called (and CALLED), but no person ever answers the phone. It rings a few times and then you must leave a message or theline goes dead. Needless to say, my calls were never returned.

Today (11/1/04) I see the same 29.95 charge from same company. I call the company and samo-samo. I go to their website and try that phone number. Oh well. I send the company an email. Then I contact my bank. Of course I can pay $32.00 to stop pay, but I will file a dispute (for free) with my bank and let them get the money back. If not, then I'll have a new bank.
