Rip off! Left with huge debt! Most employers/schools do not recognize gibbs!

Attended Katherine Gibbs in Norristown, Pa from 2005. This school was a joke! During my studies, there was a rumor going around saying that the school was not accredited. I asked one of the officials at the school if this were true... And she informed me that it wasn't and that the school was indeed accredited. What she failed to mention to me was that the school was not accredited regionally! After doing my own research, just a couple of years ago, I discovered that Gibbs was accredited nationally by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. This accreditation means absolutely NOTHING because most employers and universities do not recognize this school. You can forget about applying for a job with you Gibbs Associates Degree at a major company. Forget about wanting to further your education at a major University using the credits that you received at Gibbs. What Gibbs shouldve done is explained this to their students. Let me end it this way. I am not disappointed with the education that I received; however Im disappointed because I feel like this school was a huge waste of my time and more importantly, my MONEY! I am in tons of Sallie Mae debt because I cannot afford to pay of the loans that I obtained while attending Gibbs. I cannot get a job for a major company because Im sure they laugh when they see my credentials! Its a shame that we were not given the whole truth. If anything, I would just like for these loans to be forgiven. Its just not fair that we have to pay for a school that really did not have our best interest.
