American Homeshield
Charged service call fee plus plumber fee for leak not covered

I called American Homeshield to report a leak. As always, I got the "automated attendant." I pressed the button for "leak problems." I got a call from a plumbing company in a neighboring suburb. We set a time for them to come and fix the leak.

Today the plumber is here. He got American Homeshield on the phone, and I spoke with "Caroline." She informed me that this particular leak was not covered, but that I would still have to pay American Homeshield, plus pay the plumber's standard fee. The total would come to over $200.00, plus a piece of the wall cut out.

I will be calling to cancel my policy, and to tell them that they need to cover the jobs they schedule, tell insurance holders like myself which jobs are not covered, or don't schedule them at all. This coverage is minimal, and I pay a lot of money for it. It is NOT the policy I was led to believe it is. It is a bait-and-switch rip-off.
