AHS strikes again! Paid service charge for nothing!

I have lost count of how many times I have been told by AHS that another thing was "not covered." Most of the time, we not only pay the $55 "Service Fee" to the contractor assigned, but end up paying hundreds of dollars in parts and other fees.

This last one was another plumbing issue. The sink in our master bath sprung a leak. I called to report the problem and was told, via a recording (typical!) that a particular company would be responding. (You rarely reach a real human being, and only by accident!) When hours went by, and I had heard nothing, I called the plumbing contractor, who told me they had someone to send.

A short while later, a young plumber evaluated the problem as being in the faucet. While we waited for authorization from AHS, the young plumber and I discussed the problem.By what he told me, it did not seem to be a faucet issue. He even told me that there was a pinhole leak in the pipes. I paid the $55 service call fee.

The call came and I was told that the faucet "was not covered." The young plumber told me that his supervisor would be calling me "maybe tomorrow" to provide an estimate of what it would cost to fix the leak.

I called a real plumbing company who had the problem fixed in five minutes. It was a pinhole leak in the supply line; not the faucet! The real plumbing company told me that they don't deal with home warranty companies and have heard many complaints about AHS.

I cannot tell you how many times that I have been dissatisfied with the services provided by AHS. The only reason that I keep them is for the two heat pumps and AC units I have, which will be a huge cost to replace. AHS will probably try to get out of that, too!
