Unable to return unopened book

I purchased the international version of a book and when I went to my college class, my instructor said I would not be able to use it. I did not remove the plastic wrap so it was still in the condition that I received it.

I contact TextbooksRus asking to return the international version and switch it for the US version. I realized the US version would be a different price and indicated I was willing pay the difference.

The response I received back was because it wasn't within the 14 days, I could not return the book. So now I am stuck with the international version and I have to purchase the US version. I don't see why this company would not want to make the exchange considering the book wasn't opened, I was willing to exchange and pay any difference.

Doesn't the company realize the amount of books college students have to purchase and that by providing good customer service, they would only be increasing their sales.
