I was surprised to find $89.99 on my credit card bill. I'd never even heard of AOL Autovantage. When I called them to ask who theyw ere and how they got my credit card number, they told me I signed up for a free 2 month trial by signing and depositing a $2.50 check they sent me in the mail.
I was never sent a check; never signed it, and never deposited anything! I asked to have a copy of this signature which they claimed they had a copy of. They said they can only send me copies of my membership and signing up for it if I cancel the membership. I refuse to cancel something I never even signed up for! I talked with several people, and they say they will try to find the forms and original signature.
I have sent a dispture to my credit card company, and to the Attorney general of SC, and I plan on contacting local news reportors. This type of credit card fraud must stop!
