I started the Worldcom Wireless service on 1/26/01 and everything seemed fine. Before the first bill came, I received a letter that said the company was changing their billing cycle and to not pay the bill, that a corrected one would follow. I received that same notice with every bill.

Finally, 9 months later I felt like I should pay something and sent $100 to their payment address in New York. A few days later I called Customer Service to get exact amounts because I had just rec'd two new bills with two different amounts owed. They told me the amount that was due ($372).

Then they SHUT OFF MY PHONE! Called bank and check has not cleared. New York Post Office problems? They won't turn it on until I pay the bill in full. They say "Don't send money til we get the correct bill to you" then shut off my phone when I do send money. That makes sence. I called and spent 40 minutes on hold to talk to Customer Serv who rambled on and on about how the billing dept has been slow to post rec'd checks. He couldn't turn the phone on, but finally gave me the number to Collections. Called, spent another 50 minutes on hold with Collections. They said sorry, Can't turn it on unless you pay full amt by credit card on the phone. So that meant if I pay in full with credit card, they get the $100, they will be overpd $100. Normally not a problem, but there ain't no way I'm keeping this service after 1/25/02 and I wouldn't have "used" up the extra $100.

They say "Don't pay, don't pay". I send $100 in good faith, they shut off service. Great company.

Oh! There were also no supervisors that could speak to me or anyone that could get the service back on without full payment. When I asked to talk to a supervisor of Collections, she said one was not available and hung up on me. It's the principle of the thing now.
