Essentials ripoff unauthorized use of credit card

On December 1 I received what looked to be junk mail which I normally rip up and throw away. This time I read the junk and was astounded to see that dealpass.com/essentials was going to bill a credit card for the amount of $149.95 for membership in some type of savings club if I did not call to cancell within 30 days.

When I called to cancel I was told that they got the credit card information from something I had ordered from television. I did not order anything from television nor did I give anyone verbal or written permission to pass along any credit card info to this company.

When I called to arrange for the cancellation I told the supervisor I spoke to that I expected a letter confirming my cancellation and the removal of all of my personal info from their data base or I would contact the FTC. I intend to trace this event to the source and find out just how they were able to gain access to my credit card information
