MPS John Bennett They wasted four days of my life and $1,500 on a worthless security course delivered by a glorified idiot John Bennett

I just wanted to update both of you on the FSO course I completed two weeks ago with MPS. To put it bluntly it was THE WORST course of instruction I have ever had the discomfort to sit through. Notice I did not say course of education or any other endearing terms. John Bennett gave the class and spent the entire time criticizing and/or bashing the Coast Guard followed by any Law Enforcement agency followed by anyone who wrote or was involved in writing of or enforcing of regulations. This idiot on numerous occasions stated that the Coast Guard wrote the ISPS regulations! This guy was the most biased, anti-CG, anti-Fed, regs ignorant instructor I've had the misfortune to meet. He was the absolute pits and the worst educator if you can call him that that both J B and I have ever dealt with. At one point during the class he mentioned J not by name but that they, MPS, employs contractors to often teach the class and they in fact have one contractor with ICE a STATE agency that sometimes teaches. Did not know ICE was state, must also be news. Bennett was an idiot and I have told everyone I get near to stay away from MPS. J and I are no better off now with FSO training then when we were prior to the course. What we learned was by ourselves during studying at night and not by the idiot. This idiot spent the week imposing his views or how he felt the regs should have been written. His classes were boring, ill-conceived, had many mistakes and provided a lot of misinformation. He has no experience with physical security or foreign ports and port regulations. He was unfamiliar with his own materials and equipment and often got lost or directed the class to one reg while he spoke about another reg. He attempted to teach search techniques and handcuffing which I felt was an insult to me after having spent 20 years as a Police Officer. Where does he get off teaching this when it is not written in the regs. I also did not know that FSO's arrest and search individuals in the curse of their duties. He fact taught the techniques wrong and I'd be dead if he taught my two academy classes.in short I like to made everyone aware of how bad this course is and if possible to stay away from MPS and seek this training elsewhere.
