Con artist fake ripoff

CAMCO wrote me a letter stating that I owe Bank of America $579.63, I remember that I had bank with them, but it was 20 yrs ago, so I called Kevin Knight at 877 298 0845 and I was put through extension according to him I owe Bank of America this amount and it was an overdraft and pulled out my file, since he knows my ss# and previous address, I was convinced that maybe I did owe this money. He negotiated with me that if I pay him through the phone by check that he could get my debt down to $364.03, I gave him all my account information on the phone, but at the same time my gut instinct is telling me that something was wrong.

He connected me to their so called accounting department and made me talked to Chuck Brown, and when I asked him if this was the accounting department, he said no but he was the representative of the accounting department, after all my information was taken, I asked him for a confirmation no. And he could not give me one and finally of my insistant, he gave me a number (3075-960729). By the time I hanged up the phone I was in doubt, so I decided to go on line to see if this company has a website, what I found was CAMCO financial institution and other ligitimate businesses under CAMCO, but when I type CAPITAL ACQUISITION that's when this co appear on my screen with exactly the same co name and address and it stated that it was a ripoff and fake co.

Thank goodness that I decided to go on line and try to find out as much as I can about this co., so I immediately
notified my bank to make a stop payment on this check, the only concern that I have is that these people know my social security number and previious and current address and god knows what other information they have on me. I called Kevin Knight and told him that I know that his company is a rip off and if I do owe some money to Bank of America that I will go down there personally and pay it in person and that I did put a stop payment on my check, all he said is that I could check their company with the better business bureau and that he was just trying to help me out.
