The Boiler Room seemed to have muffled the processing fee req. Ripoff

Education & Science

Was it the boiler Rm (as someone else mentioned) that did it... Or the fact that you had to call ANOTHER number to deactivate what you didn't know you activated. I couldn't hear anything these people were saying. And should have taken note that the volume went up when I cross-examined their requirements before giving out any personal info. Not knowing they required a processing fee until I came to this site (which is #1 thru a goggle search) and after reading the fine print in the letter, I will admit, I fell for the scam. I merely only called them to ask how they knew about my credit history and the response was in association to a declined credit I had applied for recently.

Falling for a *scam*, I will admit is not a good feeling. It is happening more and more in today's world with the bettering of technology and a lot of people thinking they can get away with it. Also scams come in all shapes and sizes... This was one I had never encountered before, just a new one in a different format and while having a membership with another company (that is legitimate) that services my credit report needs of overlooking my credit, I associated this *scam* with my membership... As a added bonus to my membership. WOW! Geez.."We were referred from your credit membership and have ways to help."

... So it's easy for anyone to get scammed by deceiving people who have quirks and gimmicks of just knowing some info. About you, to getting what they want.

... And they didn't answer the "Do you have a web site question" did they. The sound barrier was an easy way to overlooking questions... They weren't answering. Just hope more can find this website before money comes missing! I did catch it in time the same thing, thanks to this site!
